Meet Florinda, our Production operator Pomoca

Pomoca’s ski touring skins are renowned worldwide for their exceptionally high quality. They are considered particularly smooth-gliding, non-slip, and adhere perfectly to touring skis. The reason for this excellent adhesion lies in an ideal adhesive layer, as well as in the two small plastic tension clips attached to each skin at the front and back. Florinda Lavandeira is a specialist in exactly this area. Her main task is, in the finishing stage, to turn a laser-cut skin into a ready-to-use ski touring skin. This means sewing the attachment system at the front and back, as well as conditioning and packaging the skin. She performs these tasks with the utmost precision, focus, and care, thereby contributing significantly to the outstanding quality of Pomoca skins.

Florinda also demonstrates great skill in various other tasks. For example, she takes care of repairs on garments returned by customers from all brands within the Oberalp Group. Florinda was particularly proud when her samples, which she had originally prepared only for internal use, turned out to be so good that colleagues from marketing used them to present products to new customers.

What Florinda particularly appreciates about her work is, on the one hand, the variety and diversity of tasks across different workstations, such as working with the laser, in small-roll production, or in the final production of ski touring skins. On the other hand, she highly values the working environment at Pomoca. Already on her first day, twelve years ago, she noticed that the way of working at Oberalp was different from her previous experiences. This was confirmed once again during the last Pomoca team trip to the snow, which left a particularly strong impression on Florinda. “It was a special adventure and a wonderful time, during which we laughed a lot,” she emphasizes.

Among her colleagues and friends, Florinda is known for her determination and perseverance, and she is also appreciated as a generous, trustworthy, and friendly person. In her free time, Florinda tries to spend as much time as possible with her family, in whose company she feels completely herself. The birth of her son, whom she describes as her daily personal motivation, changed her perspective on life several years ago. She cares for him lovingly, even if it sometimes requires her to go beyond her own limits, such as when helping him with German homework or traveling with him to visit relatives in Spain.
